The Social Network
Just saw the movie and was really impressed by the depiction of the story. The director seems to have handled the scenario really well. Some of the characters might not have been displayed correctly or that is what their friends claim but I think it was still a job well done.
I was just impressed by the story in general. Being an engineer I have seen a number of kids who dream big like Mark Zuckerberg but never make it big because they do not have the drive. Then you see some who are the same way like him, socially in adept, and having flashes of brilliance at the most inopportune times. I see nuances of the geek in me too. There have been times that I might be sitting for dinner or having a conversation and really thinking about a software code or problem I am having at work. There are times when I come up with a solution but since I did manage to develop some social skills I don't run out but I have seen others do that or start blabbering about it. One of the guys I knew, got up sometimes in the middle of the night and started talking about a solution that he had and then he fished out his computer and started coding. It is just a geek characteristic and it was really fascinating to see some of it reflected back.
The movie was mediocre, not exemplary. I just liked the idea because I could relate to it to some level and obviously because I am as addicted to facebook as the next person and would like to know the background about how it was created.
