The King's Speech
Saw the movie and was fairly impressed by it. It is getting all the awards so it is definitely worth a mention. I would this recommend this movie to all. They have taken a very sensitive subject and handled it in the most beautiful way.
Being a public figure and not being able to speak clearly can be really mortifying. The king's helplessness could have easily shown him as a sorry pitiful character. Even though you feel some pity for him, he does receive a fair share of admiration. The way he is able to talk to his children without wallowing in self pity and the way he struggles through all of his problems in a very dignified way. The best part of it was his sarcastic humor. It was entertaining the way in which there are small nuances of him where he laughs at himself and his follies.
It is most certainly a feel good movie because he conquers his disability but I think the point of the movie is about the journey and about the struggle that he and his wife the queen mother went through when dealing with this issue. The actors have done a brilliant job of potraying the characters and making the entire stretch of the movie very enjoyable.
