A Rejection & A Waitlist

Yes, the replies are in for the two I applied to. A reject from my top choice MIT and a wait list from the other school, Harvard.

The rejection was a big blow to the ego because I thought my essays were awesome and the entire package was very well put together but I guess I was wrong, I was definitely missing something and so they sent me the curt letter of rejection. The worse part is for some reason this school does not give you a chance to ask why so all those hours of work, bent over my laptop trying to produce the best essays ever and nothing but disappointment.

The wait list is definitely a positive. It means they don't love my package but it is not as bad as the others who were rejected.It is maybe worthwhile to keep on the side to be compared to another pile of applications after a couple of months. Does not give you the peace of mind but it at least gives you the hope that it is not a complete rejection, there is still a small streak of hope I might have a chance to go to Boston.
