Is it me or just another MBA clone
As I churned out a multitude of essays in the last couple of months, my cousin helped me edit them and when she thought they were to the standard that the school would like them, we submitted them. Now when I look at them and go over them using them as a reference for some of my other schools I am applying to, I feel they don't have the essence that's me. They seem to be missing something really integral that makes me and just seem like one of the numerous essays that an ideal MBA candidate would write.
I have to admit they are really impressive and in retrospect some of them make me sound really learned and thoughtful but truthfully, the stories are true but the way the results were achieved are not entirely true. I wasn't the complete saint that we painted me as and for sure I was not the calm collected person who solved all issues systematically. I did arrive at the same solution but there was a little bit of arm twisting, a little bit of sweet talking and a lot of aggressive behavior involved in the process. To tell you the truth, to survive in the steel mill you need to be a tough cookie and my MBA clone in her wonderful suit and fancy words would not survive one day out in the mill with the guys. Things are just different in the steel mill and it is very difficult to explain it to any person who has never been there.
