Rudy

Yeah I know it is a really old movie but I just saw it for the first time in its entirety. My boss was talking about it during my review and how good a movie it is so I decided to give it a shot. It is definitely a feel good movie. Not that I am a big Notre Dame fan, definitely would root against them in any game because I am a Wolverine.

Don't think it is about the Irish, it is about the spirit in a young boy to follow his dream. It is about his resilience and perseverance. The only sad part about this movie is he does it to make his father proud and sometimes you feel it is all because of that one reason and not because it was his dream too. A lot of us have done things in our lives to make our parents happy. I still do or say things in a certain way just to see my dad burst out in a smile and say that's my daughter. It just human tendency. Whatever it is, at the end of the movie when you see him stride out in the Irish gold, you feel proud of this young gentleman who strived to achieve something impossible and managed to get it.

This movie is a definite pick if you are in the old movies section of the library. For people who skeptical because it is about American football, it is not about the game even though it helps to know about the pride of the Irish but it is about the success of this boy Rudy who wins everyone's heart with his determination.
