A Dream Job

Does it really exist and does anyone ever know what it is? I have absolutely no idea. I was asked by one of the  ladies at work what my dream job was and I replied, it changes every year. I think that is pretty accurate. We change according to our conditions, we mature and so do our dreams. There are some things that always remain with you but mostly you realize that you could do something better or something else.

For instance for the last couple of years when I was in engineering school, my dream job was working for apple. What was the reason behind it? Well I thought they created cool products and so invariably their work environment must be as cool and I would be really happy there. The truth when you dig deeper, it is really not that way. I was smitten by the company and its beautiful products but the work I am sure would be the same like an other manufacturer with a young workforce like apple or Microsoft. Now in retrospect when I think about it, I do not think I want to work at apple at all.

Now my dream job has changed since my focus has changed and I think I am going to create myself a job that I love. How do I do that? It is simple. I turn into an entrepreneur by going to business school. Then I create my own business and I make a job that I enjoy. I do hire a marketing director my buddy Devesh, since I promised him. So that is my plan for now. I have no idea what my product is going to be and how I am going to create this company but I know that, it is going to be my ideal job and if nothing else I have a ready made marketing director. Think I can do it? Who knows. Will find out in a couple of years.
