The New Guy

We just got a new employee at work and unfortunately for him, I am his mentor. Really I can't imagine why my boss would want to subject him to me, I can't subject me to me.:)

He is a perfect case of a newbie, all bright eyed and bushy tailed. All ears for anything and thinks everyone knows a lot and is super smart. He is overwhelmed by almost anything and when I start talking about systems, he looks at me like I have come from another planet. Yes I know that is a possibility. Just looking at him, I was thinking about the days when I was a new employee and I cannot remember being so fresh. I guess it is also the age because he is just 21 or a little more and I was a lot older. There is something about him, a stupid look that I can't put a finger on, maybe it's because he keeps smiling like an idiot. No idea what gives him so much pleasure at work or maybe he is just smiling because he has absolutely no idea what we are talking about. Lets see how long this new guy look is going to stay becasue it wears out for sure and then you have the look of why am I here, when can I go home and when is it Friday so that I can go home and drink. Aah the simple pleasures in life.
