The Lost Symbol

Dan Brown's new book is a disappointing follow up to the last two famous books that he published. It is very predictable and anyone who knows the famous monuments in DC and has some amount of common sense can figure out what the final destination is going to be. Like the other two this one has the central theme as a cult or brotherhood who have secrets and occult rituals that cannot be revealed to the world. The evil guy Malakh seems too similar to Silas when described physically and mentally in the form of a zealot.

Overall the reader just ceases to lose interest halfway through the book because you can anticipate the next move and that just makes the book boring and unimaginative. Mr. Brown in his next book needs to think of something a little different from the secret societies that are not depicted well and the relation to the church. His writing style is impressive no matter what so just a little tweak in the story telling and we should have a nice pot boiler.
