Office Cleaning

Yes, that is exactly what I am doing right now. I thought I cleaned my office when I inherited it from someone 6 months ago. Realized when I started cleaning it again that I never finished; I just stopped because I got tired at some point.

It’s crazy the amount of stuff a person can accumulate over a period of 8yrs and if that person is a pack rat then you are in for some fun. I collected about 20 erasers, I doubt I have used that many in a lifetime and I used just pencils for writing when I was in school and still use them predominantly to make my notes. Erasers are just one thing to add to the list, pencils, pens, binders...I could just keep going on. There were some things that a software engineer would never use like boxes of screws but well when you are collecting things, what is a box of screws. You might think that I am exaggerating, but I am not. When I walked into this office for the first time there were boxes all over the place, some didn't even have anything in them. I have been told that this is way better now then when the other engineer was here but I still have boxes all over the place. If I shake a shelf or cabinet they will all come toppling down over my head.

So back to my cleaning, today was the second round and I threw out about 3 bins of recycling, about 15 binders and other odds and ends, but I don't see any difference in my office and instead of looking cleaner I think it has got messier. To add to it I am tired and don't think am going to indulge in any more office cleaning for another 6 months.
