One Step at A Time

Just got back from my vacation in Peru and while I was on my way to Machu Pichu, on the Inca trail, the only thing I could think about was the next step. I had to set small goals because the trek was long and treacherous and if I had just thought of the final peak I would have taken forever to get there and obviously get disheartened during the entire process which no doubt I did get because I am just completely out of shape.

It's funny in life you set a lot of lofty goals and are sad all the time when you don't achieve them and a simple trek in the mountains with a gazillion steps shows you that nothing is more important then making that next step. It does not matter what you have achieved in life because if you can't make that next step, you are stuck there up in the mountains without food, sometimes water and almost out of breath. Its all about the journey which is a series of small steps. There is no way you can advance in leaps and bounds unless you take all the steps on the way coz you are just going to trip, fall on your face and probably break an ankle or something on the way(yes,I did twist my ankle on the trek, as usual I don't know how to walk).
