A big MESS
I just started working for a non-profit for the summer. My project for this internship is to create a strategy for the company to enter the Indian market. Sounds like an awesome opportunity ? Well it did before I landed in Miami and started asking questions. What it appears to be is that this company is completely chaotic. They are a flat organization with the top management trying not to interfere as much as possible with the countries.
Now in a country like India if the top management is not strong enough then the minions are going to run amuck. That is exactly what is happening. Well some work and are not recognized and the others don't and they claim to take the applause for the work done by all. Isn't this a story we have heard a million times. No one likes this person but won't remove them for some reason, who knows. The same ol...same ol.
In this same ol ..same ol.. lands little old me and what I find is a mess. People talking about all the work they have done but working under the cloak of secrecy so that the others don't interfere. The others claiming a whole bunch of garbage that they have not done. The yarn they spin definitely seems to work for the main office but me being an Indian and knowing how some people talk here can easily decipher the garbage. So what does that lead me to, A BIG MESS. One that I cannot fix and not sure if anyone but top management can and think they are reluctant to do it, till a calamity strikes.
