School Friends

I was talking to a couple of school friends before and when I was home for a vacation and realized the same thing while talking to most of them. I don't have to think before saying or doing anything even if I meet some of them after eons.

There is something about that unadulterated childhood friendship that you can lose all your inhibitions and behave in a manner completely indepedent of worldly pretense. It's nice that when you say something the person on the other side is not easily offended because they know that you didn't mean anything to begin with.

Another thing that is awesome about these friends is the understanding level. You don't have to say much and they still get you. They always know when you are lying to yourself and call you on it or tell you to stop going around in circles and arrive at the point. The best part is when they tell you, you are wrong and their reasoning just makes absolute sense.

Everyone should retain a couple of these school friends because they will keep you grounded and connected to the real you.
